The following is taken from the Idaho ERC website regarding an overview
of ERC. Emergency Response Communications falls under the Church Welfare Services, and under the Church Welfare Committee, which is presided over by the Presiding Bishopric. The first form of emergency communications is by phone. Amateur Radio (ham) is the last and final form of communication - barring that, we're on foot and in person. Amateur Radio allows us to cover distances and reach large numbers of people very quickly and to receive information as well.
