Ontario Stake ERC : Overview of Emergency Response Communications

The following is taken from the Idaho ERC website regarding an overview of ERC. Emergency Response Communications falls under the Church Welfare Services, and under the Church Welfare Committee, which is presided over by the Presiding Bishopric. The first form of emergency communications is by phone. Amateur Radio (ham) is the last and final form of communication - barring that, we're on foot and in person. Amateur Radio allows us to cover distances and reach large numbers of people very quickly and to receive information as well.

What is ERC?

ERC is stands for Emergency Response Communications. It is the Church's communication system in a disaster when all other forms of communication are cut off. It consists mostly of church volunteers who have their own radios and are licensed, and who practice communications with us in preparation for an emergency. It is a part of the Church's Welfare Services, presided over by the Church Welfare Services Committee, which is presided over by the Presiding Bishopric, but is administered at the Stake Level by the Stake President.

Broadway, Meridian. The N7LGN Club Net is held weekly on Wednesday evenings at 1900. Rx 146.940, (-) Tx 146.340, PL 100. The club also has an active UHF Fusion repeater located at the Post home at a frequency of 443.000 Mhz (+) with a PL 100 Mhz tone and a 026 DTS code.
